This site is named not too much as that is the motto of some branches of the McKinlay family in Scotland and Northern Ireland. My father, John, investigated family history and found many relatives he didn’t know of previously. This is a tree of my own direct forebears. Those marked AU or NZ were born in Australia or New Zealand. The forebears of my father’s father were born in Scotland and the rest of my ancestors are English.

The McKinlays among my ancestors are from the village of Rhu on the eastern, Dumbarton, shore of Gare Loch, 2 miles from Helensburg. It is now a conservation village, home to the Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club. The Parish of Row (Rhu) has a long history and the parish church, in which my ancestors hopefully worshipped, (?) has been rebuilt a number of times.
