Notes and nonsense
I have failed miserably in my intention to limit my activities this year. The St. Mark's National Theological Centre has co-opted me as a member of its governing Council and chair of its Library Advisory Committee. And my local church, St. Philip's, has elected me to a three-year term on the Synod of the Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn, as well as to our Parish Council. So much for the quiet life of a scholar! For I also need to do some studies, earn my keep and have some private life.
I went to my first meeting of St. Mark's Council yesterday (they only happen quarterly) and found it very interesting. The other members are a distinguished and interesting group and it was wonderful to join them. The Synod is a privilege, too. I have been a member previously and really enjoy the fellowship with people from throughout our wide spread and diverse diocesan family. And on the local church front? Well there's a lot of work to do. CommentsPost a comment to 'Busy' |
