Margaret Preston (1875-1963) is among my favorite Australian artists. Preston is especially known for her woodblock and stencil prints of Australian flowers, birds and landscapes. The National Gallery of Australia has a strong collection of her work and has staged exhibitions of her work. Senior Curator, Roger Butler, has written an article on Margaret Preston, Australian printmaker and many of her prints are reproduced at the National Gallery’s Australian prints site.
