Henry Tuke

batherThe Edwardians was large 2004 exhibition at the NGA of portraits painted in England in the Edwardian era. Sounds dull, but far from it. The contrasts in styles and colors and the great variety of subjects was fascinating — workers, aristocrats, middle class people, women and men. This is a bookmark from the show which we bought as a memento of our weekend. It is a detail from A bathing group, by Henry Tuke, 1914.
