The death by hanging of Nguyen Tuong Van at Singapore’s Changi Prison has been confirmed by the Singapore authorities. The execution was at 6:00am Singapore time, almost an hour before dawn.
It seems that such horrors must be done in the dark.
Singapore has a fine Yellow Ribbon Project to help offenders in their return to the community after release from prison. Not this time.
The “mission in life” of the Singapore Prison Service is “to get criminals out of prison.” Seems there’s more than one way to achieve that.
